MICRONEEDLING IS A MINIMALLY INVASIVE PROCEDURE THAT REDUCES WRINKLES AND SCARS TO REVEAL BEAUTIFUL SKIN
After removing numbing cream from the area to be treated and then thoroughly cleaned, a serum is applied to the treatment area (face or neck usually). A handheld instrument that contains rows of thin needles is used to superficially penetrate the top layer of the skin at a uniform depth and thus creates a controlled skin injury. This controlled skin injury induces rapidly-healing micro-punctures with subsequent stimulation of collagen and elastin fiber production resulting in skin remodeling.
In the treatment of scars, the needles breakdown the scar strands and allow it to revascularize. With the new vascular supply and ultimately new collagen formation and improved skin texture and appearance.

Know What to Expect.
Sessions typically take 30 to 60 minutes with 4 weeks in between each session. Each patient's needs will vary but 1-3 sessions are recommended. Results typically 6 months after your last session.
A numbing cream is placed on the area of treatment (usually face and/or neck) for approximately 30 minutes before the procedure. After this, Dr. Wise will thoroughly clean the area to be treated.

Microneedling does not use heat, chemicals, toxins or remove layers of your skin and can be used on ALL skin types.
Preparation is Key.
Do not use products such as retinol, topical antibiotics, exfoliants, benzoyl peroxide, topical acids 72 hours prior to the procedure.
Avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen as it will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is responsible for the skin’s rejuvenation.
Take Care.
Avoid sun exposure for 72 hours after the treatment.
Use gentle cleanser and moisturizer for 7 days following the treatment and you may resume your skincare regimen following day 7.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA
Combining Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma takes the treatment one step further.
Platelet Rich Plasma, also known as PRP, is an advanced technique which utilizes the body’s own blood cells to actually boost the production of collagen in your skin, thus enhancing the efficacy and overall success of the treatment. Microneedling with PRP can significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin tone and help with the treatment of acne scars, surgical scars and even stretch marks.
During your office visit, a small amount of a patient’s own blood is drawn into a 10 mL collection tube. This tube is placed into a centrifuge and spun to isolate the PRP. The PRP is then removed from the tube and placed in a syringe and this is applied to the area of treatment and infused into the skin with the microneedling device.
